When the vampires attack, trust no-one – not even yourself!

When corrupt bounty hunters target one of 19th century Europe’s most deadly vampire clans, the last place any lawman wants to be is caught in the middle…

But Anton Yoska, Lord Marshal of the Imperial lands south of the Carpathian Mountains, finds himself unwillingly trapped in a terrifying supernatural stand-off that can only end in a bloodbath.

A gang of mercenaries led by Anton’s former army comrade Milosh Drubrick have captured vampire aristocrat Stefan Modjeski, wanted for a string of bloody ritualistic murders – and they’ve come to Anton to claim the reward and seek shelter and protection. And as Stefan’s predatory undead brethren lay siege to the jailhouse, Anton is faced with an agonising choice – hand over his prisoner and abandon the treacherous bounty hunters to their unspeakable fate, or stand and fight.

The jailhouse defenders are outnumbered and out of options. It’s a battle that can’t be won, certain slaughter for them all, and Anton can’t trust his scheming allies. But Lord Marshal Yoska isn’t about to surrender.

For he’s an experienced vampire hunter, a dangerous man when cornered, and a single minded warrior who knows there are worse things to fear than death…

BLOOD RIDERS – coming May 2018

Wonderful news

Thrilled beyond words to announce that I’ve just signed a two-book deal with Junction Publishing. My first Gothic horror novel Blood Riders will be coming out in May 2018. It feels like Christmas has come early.

Making A Splash!

I’m often asked where I get my ideas for my dark fantasy tales, and the answer is simple – myths and folklore. History is packed with fascinating – and disturbing – fireside accounts of death, betrayal, evil and trickery.

In Bitter Harvest , which appears in Tyche Books’ Ride The Moon anthology, I took what is seen as an amusing watery legend of the Wiltshire Moonrakers and gave it a profoundly sinister twist.

Over The Moon!

I’m pleased to announce that my dark tale of smugglers and doublecrosses Bitter Harvest will be appearing in Ride The Moon – the launch title for new Canadian fantasy and sci-fi publisher Tyche Books. The exciting and varied collection 0f 19 lunar-themed yarns appears on Feb 29th 2012.

Good start to the New Year

2011 is off and running. My story Let There Be Light, which chronicles what happens when Leonardo Da Vinci takes on a clan of ruthless vampires, has been accepted for Static Movement’s Ruby Red Cravings anthology.

Creepy in the Country

Just heard that my spooky tale Clutching At Straws has been accepted for the Pill Hill Press anthology Back To The Middle of Nowhere: More Horror in Rural America.

Darkness delight!

I’m on a roll with US-publisher Static Movement. They’ve just accepted my creepy hynopsis tale Stab in the Dark for their Caught by Darkness anthology.

Metal Magic!

My flash fiction historical yarn Changeling has just been accepted for Static Movement’s fantasy anthology By Mind Or Metal. Yeah!

Absolute Xpress hat-trick

Even more great news – my story Malice Through The Looking Glass is featuring in the Absolute Xpress Inhuman anthology due out at the end of July. This is the 3rd consecutive AXP Flash Fiction Challenge where my spooky yarns have appeared.

Howling success

Great news – my short story Once Upon A Crime (a wry and acerbic reworking of Red Riding Hood) is appearing in Pill Hill Press’ latest short story collection, Silver Moon, Bloody Bullets: An Anthology of Werewolf Tails. It is on sale on from late June.
